Grumeti River Camp

The Grumeti River Camp is situated in the remote western corridor of the Serengeti National Park. This unspoilt wilderness is not only famous for its river but also for the thousands and thousands of animals that have to wade across it every year during the “Great Migration”. Not surprisingly, the river is equally renowned for its gigantic crocodiles which are particularly well fed. Such a prodigious amount of wildlife is unparalleled anywhere else in the world and at night one can even hear the hippos bellowing in the lake nearby. Each tent is fully equipped and furnished in a luxurious colonial style and disposes of an outside shower.
The camp provides guided safaris in open vehicles, bird watching and excursions to Lake Victoria. In the savannah of the Serengeti National Park, guests will marvel at the great number and variety of animals in view – gnu, zebra, gazelle and giraffe. The sunsets from the Masira hills is always a breathtaking experience as is a visit to the wallowing hippos that pass their time frolicking in the adjacent watercourses. The Grumeti River Camp offers the truly traditional African experience, bringing the guest into the wonderfully untamed and untouched world of the savannah.
