Eco Luxury Camps and Lodges in the World

Where you’ll stay for a dream eco-vacation

Marlin Lodge

Situated on the largest island in the Bazaruto Archipelago, Marlin Lodge is much more than just a seaside resort with great possibilities for fishing. The lodge is a natural haven, teeming in wildlife and offers visitors a whole range of outdoor activities. The lodge is constructed using local wood and is elevated above the ground on wooden stilts. The accommodation is built ostensibly of wood with traditional thatched roofing. Wooden pathways connect the 20 chalets to the main lodge so as to interfere as little as possible with the natural environment. The chalets are all individually built and no two are completely alike. All the interiors combine luxury with ethnically styled furnishings and decoration.
Warm earth colours predominate (beige, maroon, orange) with touches of cobalt blue on the cushions and dining sets. All the chalets have a private patio with direct access to the beach which represents more often than not the centre of activity on the island. During the day guests can picnic in one of the islands more remote spots or go out and “explore” some of the neighbouring islands using the lodges private yacht. In the evenings, the beach is transformed into a romantic torch-lit restaurant serving a delicious mixture of
local African and Portuguese dishes. For those passionate about scuba diving, Marlin Lodge boasts its own private diving centre and offers its guests a whole host of different sites to dive in. The aquatic life here is particularly abundant, ranging from innumerable types of coral and tropical fish to dolphins, sharks and even dugongs, the legendary marine mammals.
