Eco Luxury Camps and Lodges in the World

Where you’ll stay for a dream eco-vacation

Amankore

Amonkora derives its name from two words meaning “peace” and “pilgrimage”. Amonkora offers its guests the chance to learn about the history and the traditional way of life in Bhutan by residing in one of its four luxury lodges, each one perched in one of the high mountain valleys of the region. Each lodge differs from the other by virtue of its precise location and by virtue of the parti- cular experience it is able to offer. Amankora Paro, with its luxurious wooden furnished lodge sits at 2,225 metres above sea level and has breathtaking views over the surrounding valleys and the snow capped Drugyel Dzong. Amankora Thimphu is another sumptuous lodge. Built in the dzong style and surrounded by lush pine forests, the whole area (Motithang) is dotted with ancient temples and monasteries. Amankora Punakha is the most remote and is only accessible by a suspension bridge that crosses the River Mo Chhu. Amankora offers its guests a unique mixture of cultural and spiri- tually edifying experiences in a region rich in history and tradition.
