Home Fitness Workouts – Exercises You Can Do Today


You can get a great workout without leaving the house. Exercising at home can produce amazing results. You don’t need any equipment but by adding just a few inexpensive pieces you’ll take your workout routine to a new level.

It’s impossible to cover all of the exercises that can be done. We’ll cover some of the basics here.

A basic push-up can work wonders just by adjusting your hand position. First try spreading your hands further apart. Then try bringing your hands together under your chest so the tips of your index and thumbs touch forming a diamond. You can elevate your feet. Add push up bars to give you more range of movement.

Handstand push-ups are killer for the shoulders. These can be done with your feet against a wall or someone holding them to keep your balance. If you’re not ready to do a handstand just yet, from a standing position, bend over into a ‘v’ position with your hands on the floor, fingertips facing each other pretty close together. Now do a push-up. A simple door frame pull up bar can add a whole new set of exercises.

There are a whole slew of ab exercises. One of the best is bicycles. Lie on your back. Bring your knees to chest while raising your shoulder blades off of the floor. Put your hands behind your head. Make sure not to pull on your neck. Now extend your right leg out while your upper body turns left at the same time. Do the opposite for the other side.

For legs there are squats, lunges and calf raises. Try doing these with weight like dumbbells if you have any. To get more from calf raises stand with the front of your feet on a step to more range.

Get your cardio in with jumping jacks or running.

Adding equipment like push-up bars, pull up bar, resistance bands and dumbbells can expand your workout routine. They don’t cost that much either.
