Blancaneaux: a heaven in the jungle

Situated in the Mountain Pine Ridge nature reserve, close to S. Ignacio, Blancaneaux Lodge blends in perfectly with its luxuriant wooded surroundings. A small private plane links the lodge to the airport in Belize City. The inbound flight is spectacular, rewarding the visitor with magnificent aerial views of Victoria Peak and of the Chiquibul forest. The lodge has been designed with the aim of maximising luxury and comfort while at the same time remaining in harmony with its lush natural environment. Constructed using
local materials and conceived without air conditioning, televisions or telephones, Blancaneaux offers its guests a full immersion into nature. The accommodation is elegantly furnished and possesses a decidedly ethnic feel, with splendid views over the garden, the waterfalls and the tropical rainforest. From every corner the visitor is immersed in the sounds, odours and light of the forest.
SABI SABI: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow

The Sabi Sabi philosophy of ‘yesterday, today and tomorrow’ stems from over 100 years of safari experience; a history richly woven into the atmosphere of each private game lodge. South Africa and its warm hospitality echo through the style of every one.
Sabi Sabi’s philosophy is based on two main principles:
* The first is the need to conserve rapidly dwindling areas and to provide a sanctuary for fauna and flora as part of South Africa’s heritage.
* The second is the belief that the business must be a true example of eco-tourism effectively linking tourism with conservation and the community. Sabi Sabi’s environmental management system is a holistic one, where the ecological needs are balanced with the needs of people and their communities, i.e. focussing on the interdependence of tourism, conservation and local communities.
Gorilla Forest Camp: the atmosphere of the Jungle Book

Gorilla Forest Camp is a permanent luxury tented camp nestled in the mountainous and mist-swathed rainforests of Bwindi National Park. Guest accomodation is in eight large tents, each with en-suite facilities and a separate bathroom with a bathtub looking out onto the forest itself. Each tent has a large wooden deck where guests can relax, enjoy meals and absorb the exotic mystery of the rainforest that provided the inspiration for Walt Disney’s Jungle Book. The tents are exceptionally spacious and have two queen-sized beds with headboards carved by Ugandan craftsmen. From this comfortable and indeed unique base guests can trek into the forest accompanied by a ranger and observe the gentle mountain gorilla in their remote forest habitat.
